Dr. Paul Caron, the Executive Director of Positive Strokes, is enjoying an illustrious career in coaching and athletic administration. Early in his playing career, he co-captained the Marblehead (MA) Maroons to a National USA Midget Championship and later received honors from the Lake Placid Junior Olympic Athletic Committee.
After his playing career, Paul directed a National Hockey League (NHL) minor league franchise, officiated and coached at the college level, and conducted university-level coaching seminars for minor league and college coaches. Most recently, Paul has owned and directed a premier, elite hockey academy in Massachusetts where he developed a growing network of coaching and professional associates. Paul has also scouted in the NHL and consulted with the Russian Ice Hockey Federation. But most of all, he enjoys teaching and facilitating the placement of student-athletes to compatible schools.
As an academician, Dr. Paul Caron continues to value and broaden his educational expertise. Paul has successfully taught English at the secondary and college level, directed athletic departments, and contributed to an independent school admission office. He understands young and mature students... how they see and order the world - in other words, how they learn.
Paul brings balance to his life through volunteerism and fitness. Recently, he completed a solo 2,982-mile, 42-day cross-country bicycle trek that raised $22,000 for local charity.
